FAQs

This is a list of of the questions most frequently asked of our support team.

Can I change the colour scheme on my computer?

Sorry but in this version of the application it is not possible to change the colours. However this feature is being considered for a later version.

Where is my data stored on my computer?

The data is saved with an ODS file extension. When you are first setting up your file, and you click ?save as? for the first time, it is worth considering where you want your data to be saved to. We recommend you save it in ?My documents?

If you have saved your data and now you are unable to find it, we suggest that you use the ?Search? facility in your Start up Menu looking for a file with the .ODS extension.

How will Ofsted feel about our school using this kind of software?

A member of our team is a teacher with over ten years experience, and the software has been developed with the needs of teachers, schools and Ofsted in mind.  It is our practise to routinely research and implement the trends and changes that the DFE and Ofsted require.

Presently we are aware that Ofsted would like schools to use their assessments of pupils more fully in informing future planning. They would also like to see more effective ways of transferring data when children move from school to school. We are also very aware that teachers welcome effective ways to reduce workload, but not to the detriment of their pupils.

Assess2Achieve has considered these issues when the software has been developed and created solutions to them. It has been designed as a software reflection of what teachers already do on paper. There are planning pages, assessment pages, areas for notes on pupils including absences and late arrivals. There are proformas to use to help to keep things simple, but the software also has features to enable the user to alter the set up considerably.

Assess2Achieve has been designed to be of the highest quality to complement the good practise that occurs in so many of our Schools. We are confident that Ofsted will find Assess2Achieve a useful overall tool in monitoring the attainment and progress of pupils.

We would be grateful to receive comments from schools who have used Assess2Achieve during an inspection. We will keep you posted.

My school uses a different format for reports

I would like to use Assess2Achieve in my classroom to aid my teaching, and save me time when I write reports, but my school uses a different format for reports which I must use. Is there a solution to my problem?

It is possible to ?create? your reports using Assess2Achieve and once you have registered and licensed the software, you can cut and paste the relevant sections into your school?s report format, but the simplest solution is to convince your school to trial it! Don?t forget the software is free to download and use.

Sometimes it takes a few seconds to view a page. Should this happen?

Yes. This happens because the software has been designed to be user friendly and non threatening. It takes a lot of computer power to lay out a large number of pupil, subjects and assessments in this way. Think how many paper files you use presently to store this data, and you will understand how much data the program is efficiently handling.

However we are constantly improving the software to make it run faster.
